Still crunchy in NYC?

Had the thought today: is it possible to be crunchy but in the city? What would that look like? When I lived in the Bay it was super easy (okay, and also expensive) to be crunchy: wear a puffy like literally everyone else, go to Berkeley Bowl, climb, drive a Subaru. There were times when I made homemade oatmilks and almondmilks, times when I was suuuuper into teas and tea tasting (s/o Song Tea!), and many times when I did cooking-adjacent jobs like working a farmer's market for an organic farm, food photography, or super super adjacent: working as a bike messenger before electric bikes and batteries were commonly used. Imagine.

Since this Spring I challenged myself to be a bit more crunchy, at least activity wise. I’ve begun increasing my food excursions in the city. It's led me to Ukrainian meat markets, bomb breakfast burritos from Dimes Deli (which also has a market ~Dimes Market~ with a great selection but come on who am I kidding you probably already knew this!), and to the Sunday farmer's market at the park nearby.

Is this crunchy, though? Maybe not, maybe not.
